Boston Red Sox
fans are some of the best in all of major league baseball. There is
allot to love about the Red Sox, beautiful Fenway Park with the green
monster, world series caliber baseball
team, and more. The Red Sox won the world series last in 2004 sweeping
the St. Louis Cardinals in four games.
The 2007 version of the Red Sox has a great chance of winning the
world series once again. The team is loaded with talent from top to
bottom with the likes of David Ortiz, Jonathan Papelbon, Josh Beckett,
Daisuke Matsuzaka, Manny Ramirez, and Curt Schilling. As every year,
the Red Sox will have to battle with the NY
Yankees for the AL East division championship. This is one of
the best rivalries in all of baseball which dates back all the way
to the curse
of the Bambino. This should be a great year of baseball for Boston
Red Sox fans that should not end until late October.

Red Sox Information
The Red Sox
are one of the few professional sports teams that can claim the
majority of the residents of their home city as fans. The Red
Sox Nation grows even larger, drawing fans from around the country.
The home
of the Red Sox is Fenway Park, which is the oldest stadium in
baseball. Fenway has been the home of the Red Sox since 1912.
The scourge
of the Red Sox has been the New York Yankees for much of both
teams histories. The most memorable point in the history of this
rivalry came during the 1920 season, when the Red Sox sold slugger
Babe Ruth to the Yankees for $100,000. The Red Sox would not win
a World Championship again until 2004, while the Yankees would
win 26 World Championships in their history.
It’s
hard to find a franchise with more great players in their history
than the Boston Red Sox. Players that have worn the Red Sox uniform
include: Bobby Doerr, Carlton Fisk, Harry Hooper, Ted Williams,
Cy Young and Babe Ruth
The Red Sox
have won their division 5 times in their history, and have made
the playoffs an additional 3 times as the Wild Card Team. Boston
has won 6 World Series Championships; in 1903,1912, 1915, 1916,
1918, and in 2004.
During their
franchise's history, the Red Sox have had players pitch 16 No
Hitters and hit for the cycle 19 times. The Red Sox also have
two players that have completed unassisted triple plays while
with the team. BUY RED SOX TICKETS The 2002 season started with
a lot of changes in the Boston front office. After a change in
ownership, the firings of the teams General Manager, and Manager
just a week later were quick to shake up the team. The addition
of free agents Johnny Damon and John Burkett helped add some fire
to the team as they went 93-69, good enough for second place in
their division. But the Red Sox still had a long way to go. Like
the season before, the 2003 season brought in more firepower for
the Red Sox, this time in the form of Kevin Millar, Bill Mueller
and David Ortiz. The lineup for the Red Sox produced a 95-67 record,
and earned the team the Wild Card spot in the playoffs. The team
would face the rival New York Yankees in the first round. In a
series that would last 7 games, the Red Sox would lose to the
Yankees after Boston pitcher Pedro Martinez is left in the game,
only to get punished by New York’s batters. The Red Sox
would be out of the playoffs without a World Series title again,
but would pick up several key players for their next attempt at
a World Championship. After winning 98 games during the 2004 regular
season (the most for the franchise since 1978), the Red Sox would
make the postseason as the American League Wild Card team. Led
by players such as Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz, Johnny Damon, Pedro
Martinez, and the newly acquired Curt Schilling, the Red Sox defeated
the Anaheim Angels in 4 games, and the New York Yankees in 7 games
to make it to the World Series. In the Fall Classic, the Red Sox
faced the St. Louis Cardinals would had the best regular season
record in all of baseball. The Red Sox would end up triumphant
after winning the Series in four games, marking the first World
Championship for the franchise in 86 years.
<p>Dustin Moseley rewarded manager Joe Girardi for his decision to start him Thursday night against the Indians, providing the Yankees with a little less urgency to add a pitcher before Saturday's trade deadline.</p>
<p>Moseley allowed one run on four hits and two walks over six innings, picking up the win in his first start since April 17, 2009, with the Angels. After the game, Girardi—who opted to give Moseley the ball after Sergio Mitre got knocked around in a start last weekend—said Moseley would start again Tuesday in New York against the Blue Jays.</p>
<p>"I'm excited," Moseley said. "I think I can do this job. Whatever they ask me to do, I'm more than willing to do it."</p>
<p>Moseley struggled in the first inning, needing 31 pitches to get through the frame.
Alex Rodriguez drove in three runs without hitting his 600th homer and New York used a seven-run seventh inning to beat Cleveland 11-4 on Thursday night. Dustin Moseley (1-0) won his first start, allowing a run and four hits over six innings as New York took three of four in a lopsided series that saw A-Rod extend his homerless streak to seven games.

Alex Rodriguez kept his sense of humor and A.J. Burnett rediscovered his wicked curveball. Rodriguez had two hits, but not homer No. 600, to support another sharp outing by a resurgent Burnett and the New York Yankees beat the Cleveland Indians 8-0 on Wednesday night. Each time Rodriguez strode to the plate, hundreds of fans left their seats and jammed a walkway between the left-field pole and the...
CLEVELAND - A fan wearing a Miami Heat jersey of LeBron James drew the ire of the crowd at a Cleveland Indians game and was escorted out of the ballpark.
Jorge Posada is going to play with a sore left knee for as long as he can. The 38-year-old returned to the New York Yankees' lineup Wednesday night after missing one game. Instead of playing catcher, he was the designated hitter. "It's something I've dealt with off and on since 2006," Posada said of the soreness.
If Josh Tomlin was in awe of Alex Rodriguez and the mighty New York Yankees, he didn't show it. Tomlin took a shutout into the eighth inning against A-Rod and the rest of New York's potent lineup to win his major league debut with the Cleveland Indians, 4-1 on Tuesday night. "That was an outstanding effort by the kid," Indians manager Manny Acta said.
Jorge Posada was scratched from the New York Yankees' lineup minutes before gametime because of a sore left knee. A Yankees spokesman said Posada experienced left knee soreness and was replaced by Francisco Cervelli. Posada was originally in manager Joe Girardi's lineup, batting sixth. Cervelli went into the eighth spot, with center fielder Curtis Granderson being moved up from seventh to...
A Rhode Island gubernatorial candidate has questioned one of the most memorable moments in New England sports history as he criticized a $75 million state loan guarantee given to a video game company owned by former Boston Red Sox star Curt Schilling. Lincoln Chafee, a former Republican senator turned independent, on Tuesday told WPRO-AM that he doesn't know if he trusts Schilling, and...
Andy Pettitte is making more progress in his rehab program for a strained left groin. The New York Yankees pitcher was "feeling good" after going through a series of running and agility drills Tuesday at the team's spring training complex. The left-hander had resumed jogging on Sunday. Pettitte hurt the groin while throwing a pitch during a July 18 games against Tampa Bay.
